C2012 Annual All School Alumni Reunion Luncheon

Saturday, April 28, 2012

Nearly 250 graduates and guests of Molalla High School gathered on April 28, 2012 at the high school commons for a roast turkey lunch prepared by the Clarke’s Grange. 

Alumni Chairman, Ken Naylor, class of 1955 called the meeting to order and acknowledged the service of Byron Schriever, class of 1948 and Joann Freeman Gribble class of 1949 for their service on the Board of Directors.  Ken Naylor, Delores Adams Erb 1962, and Sheryl Erickson 1963, were unanimously elected to serve on the board.

Receiving special honors were those classes with milestone anniversaries from 30 to 80 years, including

 

Roberta Eyman Daniels, 98, class of 1931, the earliest class in attendance. 

Judge Ralph Holman, former Associate Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court, celebrated the eightieth year of his graduation in 1932 and spoke to the group. 

Genevieve Jackson Sperb attended from the class of 1934.

Joel Daniels, 1959, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, reported that the fund now has over $230,000 and will be able to award eight $2,000 scholarships this year thanks to the generosity of the alumni group over the years. 

He acknowledged the impact that the Holman Family Foundation scholarship fund has had for Molalla graduates pursuing a college education.  That fund awards two $3,500 scholarships each year that are renewable.

Blanche Lebold Kober, 1959, Chair of the Luncheon Committee thanked all those who helped get everything ready.  The next reunion will be in April of 2013 at the high school.
