Rebekah
Lodge donates to local scholarship fund
The Molalla Alumni
Scholarship Fund Board is delighted to announce receipt
of a $10,000 donation from the Molalla Oak Rebekah Lodge
#159.
This money is to be used
to create a newly named scholarship (the Molalla Oak
Rebekah Lodge Scholarship) to be awarded next spring to
a 2009 Molalla River High School senior.
Our heartfelt thanks are
extended to the ladies of Molalla’s Rebekah Lodge not
only for their generous donation, but also for their
kindness and consideration in helping Molalla seniors to
further their education.
All donations are
invested with the sole purpose of awarding scholarships
each spring to active and deserving Molalla High School
seniors.
We now have four named
scholarships that have been created by individuals or
groups who have donated $10,000 or more to the Alumni
Fund.

Sperb '34 (celebrating her 91st birthday), Blanche Hilton
Blackman '34, Ivan Mundhenke '34 and Mary Pemble Tiffin

Roger Engle '61 called the roll
and the classes of 1948 and 1955 tied for the top spot with 18 members,
each, present.

over $90,000 from the estate of Dorothy Damm Waiste, '31. There
will be a scholarship named for her. He reported on the Holman Family
Molalla High Scholarship Fund and the scholarship fund of Terry
Holman '68, both administered by the Oregon Community Foundation for
the benefit of graduating Molalla Seniors. The committee thanks Molalla
High School Alumni and others for their very generous support of this
very worthwhile endeavor. The recipients for 2008 were to be announced
at the Senior Awards Night in May.
A big thank you is due to all of the
willing hands that did so much work to make this year's luncheon and
annual meeting such a success. |
