Welcome!  We are glad you have found the Molalla (Oregon) High School Alumni Association web site.  The Association was founded in May 2000.  It exists to enhance higher education opportunities for Molalla High School graduates, through the promotion and management of money awards (as scholarships).

Rebekah Lodge donates to local scholarship fund

The Molalla Alumni Scholarship Fund Board is delighted to announce receipt of a $10,000 donation from the Molalla Oak Rebekah Lodge #159.

This money is to be used to create a newly named scholarship (the Molalla Oak Rebekah Lodge Scholarship) to be awarded next spring to a 2009 Molalla River High School senior.

Our heartfelt thanks are extended to the ladies of Molalla’s Rebekah Lodge not only for their generous donation, but also for their kindness and consideration in helping Molalla seniors to further their education.

All donations are invested with the sole purpose of awarding scholarships each spring to active and deserving Molalla High School seniors.

We now have four named scholarships that have been created by individuals or groups who have donated $10,000 or more to the Alumni Fund.

The Master of Ceremonies was Keith Jensen '50 who began the proceedings by calling on Marlin Love '43 to give the invocation. Billie Pollack Kober '51 recognized the oldest Alumni present: Roberta Eyman Daniels '31, Genevieve Jackson Sperb '34 (celebrating her 91st birthday), Blanche Hilton Blackman '34, Ivan Mundhenke '34 and Mary Pemble Tiffin '34.

Roger Engle '61 called the roll and the classes of 1948 and 1955 tied for the top spot with 18 members, each, present.

Byron Schriever '48 presented the proposed by-laws for the Alumni Association and they were approved. Elected to the newly-formed Board of Directors were: Irene Hobart Crowley '64, Gary Bush '63, Duke (John) Ditrich '55, Joann Freeman Gribble '49, Keith Jensen '50, Blanche Lebold Kober '59 and Byron Schriever '48

Joel Daniels '59 ,Alumni Scholarship Fund chairman, gave a report and announced the receipt of over $90,000 from the estate of Dorothy Damm Waiste, '31. There will be a scholarship named for her. He reported on the Holman Family Molalla High Scholarship Fund and the scholarship fund of Terry Holman '68, both administered by the Oregon Community Foundation for the benefit of graduating Molalla Seniors. The committee thanks Molalla High School Alumni and others for their very generous support of this very worthwhile endeavor. The recipients for 2008 were to be announced at the Senior Awards Night in May.

A big thank you is due to all of the willing hands that did so much work to make this year's luncheon and annual meeting such a success.
