A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Saints Peter & Paul Episcopal Church in Portland for Arthur Algene Roddy, who died Dec. 21 at age 85.
Arthur Algene Roddy was born April 5, 1923, in Morris, Okla. During World War II, he served in the Army. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University and received a master's degree from VanderCook College of Music. He moved in 1955 to Molalla and in 1961 to Milwaukie. After moving to Oregon he served in the Oregon Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve and received a master's degree from Portland State University. He was a music teacher for the North Clackamas School District, primarily in Oak Grove Elementary School. In 1947, he married Marion C. Vorce; she died in 2004.
Survivors include his sons, Charles A., David W. and Christopher M.; and one grandchild.
