James Alfred Roberts

James Alfred Roberts was born on May 27, 1932, and died on May 27, 2024, at the age of 92 at his home in Canby, Oregon. He was a 1950 graduate of Roosevelt High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education at Oregon State University and an Administrative Certificate. He spent his working career as an educator and administrator at Oregon City and Molalla High School and Clackamas Community College where he retired in 1990. He served 20 years in the Air Force and retired as a Major in 1992.

Jim was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Molalla. He also enjoyed his travel for many years with the Bridgetown campers, including memorable trips all the way to Alaska and having visited 48 the States. Jim and Madeline celebrated 70 anniversaries and are proud of their five sons. He is survived by his wife Madeline, sons Randy (Connie), Craig (Erica), Brad, Todd (Connie), and Guy (Tamra), his brother Walt Hopkins (Peggy), 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and a multitude of friends and extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Helen Hopkins, brother, Chuck Roberts, sister, Kathy( Hopkins)Neaphen and sister, Shirley Ann Roberts

A private graveside military service was held on May 31st at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, as a tribute to a life marked by honor, service, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
