Date of birth  - November 23, 1945

Date of death  - March 9, 2025

William "Bill" Edward Nightingale was born November 23, 1945, to William O. and Janet Nightingale in St. Helens, Oregon.

Bill attended schools in Molalla, Oregon graduating with the class of 1964. His activities in high school were, wrestling, member of Orange M and Renegades. After graduation Bill joined the Navy where he served aboard the USS Piedmont. Bill served three years as a blue water veteran in territorial waters off the shore of Vietnam. Bill was honorably discharged in 1967.

Bill moved to Beaverton, Oregon from San Diego, California with his first wife Lillian and had two children, Billy and Becky. Bill lost Lillian and Becky in a car accident and continued to raise son Billy in Beaverton and worked at Tektronix. Bill left Tektronix and became a sheet metal journeyman. He fabricated heating and cooling ductwork. He was very good at it.

In 1979 Bill attended Molalla class of 1964, fifteenth class reunion. There he met Patti Walden, and they began dating. Bill eventually moved to Patti's home in Molalla and Bill proposed shortly after. Bill and Patti were married Valentines Day 1979 and began raising their two boys. The commute from Molalla to sheet metal jobs became too great and so William Nightingale Construction was born. One of Bill's first construction jobs was adding an addition to Patti's small house which included a music room. Bill went on to build many beautiful homes including their home in Prineville, Oregon.

Bill was always available to help others especially during inclement weather when snow and ice "on the hill" made it difficult for neighbors to drive on.

Bill loved doing things with his sons, grandsons, great grandsons and nephews: fishing, hunting, crabbing, target practicing. Bill loved bowling, playing cribbage, mowing the lawn and watching Duck games with his kitties on his lap. Bill enjoyed talking to people. He was much like Patti's Dad, Walt. But most of all, Bill loved Patti and making her happy. They were married for 45 years.

Bill is survived by wife Patti, sons Billy and David, grandchildren Tyler, Draven, Jennifer and Samuel, great grandsons William and Kaden, sisters Jeannie, Mary Alice, and Flo Ann, nieces and nephews.
