Loren Paul Link, 57, died of cancer Dec. 16, 2009 in Oakland, Oregon.

He was born Jan. 29, 1952 in Silverton to Elmer and Betty Link. He grew up on his family’s farm in the Wildcat area south of Molalla and attended Molalla schools.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1974.

On June 15, 1974 he married Sarah Shultz in Molalla. He worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation from 1975 to 2009. He was involved with Bill Glass Prison Ministries and Gleaners in California and was also a member of the Sutherlin Family Church in Sutherlin, Ore. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and farming.

Survivors include his mother, Betty; sister, Judy McNeil and brother, Randy, all of Molalla, and nine grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Sutherlin Family Church. Pastor Ed Wilgus will officiate.

Loren is also survived by wife Sara and their children Jason Link, Klamath Falls, Oregon, Katlin Nole of Santa Monica Pier, California, Jessica Lemley, Springfield, Oregon, John Link, Sutherlin, Oregon, Curtis Link, Litchfield Park, Arizona.
