William C. Kieling

Born on March 12, 1921 in Hillyard (Spokane County), Washington.

Passed away on April 21, 2014 in Seattle.

Alumnus of Molalla High School in Oregon and the University of Washington. He worked at Boeing, served in the Marine Corps during World War II, and designed trucks for Freightliner. He taught design engineering at the University of Washington from 1956 until his retirement in 1983.

In retirement, he studied watch and clock repair and enjoyed volunteering in that area. He is survived by his daughter Jean (Richard Roter), grandchildren Kyle and Leslie, and a sister, Virginia Dreher. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Pauline, in 2007, his son, Monte, in 2011, and two brothers and a sister.

Bill moved to The Kenney retirement community in West Seattle in 1985, and any remembrances can be made to The Kenney.

A memorial service will be held at The Kenney on May 22 at 1:00 p.m.
