Gary William Erb

Gary W. Erb, 84, of Aurora, Oregon, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Salem, Oregon. He was born on August 28, 1941, and spent much of his early life in Molalla.

He graduated from Molalla High School [1959] and then attended Oregon State University, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. His degree led to a 27-year career as an electrical engineer and manager in the shipbuilding and repair industry.

Once retired, he started his own business restoring and repairing antique firearms. Throughout Gary’s life, he was a man of many hobbies. Photography, target shooting, archery, computers, music, building speakers and stereo systems, building and flying radio-controlled planes and helicopters, woodworking, shotgun shooting, gardening, and so many more unique endeavors.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Paul Erb, and his mother, Lois Erb. Gary is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Kristi Erb. They had many adventures in their life together. He is also survived by his daughters, Suzanne (Mark) Dickinson of Maple Valley, WA, and Amy (Greg) Elliott of Woodland, WA. He had 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A private family burial will be held at the Aurora Community Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be planned for a later date.
