Irene Janeece (Helvey) Emmert

Irene Emmert passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 21st 2026 in her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on September 27th , 1932 to Albert Helvey and Maxine (Whitlock) Helvey in Silverton Oregon. She is the eldest of 7 children. Irene married Carl Emmert on October 4th , 1951. The two had 5 children Dianne, Vicki, Susan, Mike and James.

Irene lived a happy fulfilled life and enjoyed many activities, including traveling abroad, sewing, bull riding , skiing, tole painting and perhaps more than anything else, authoring fiction novels. Her passion for writing has been alive for nearly her entire life and she has six published murder mysteries.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Carl and her brother Clinton. She is survived by two brothers, three sisters, five children, fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
