Rex B. Coleman

April 1, 1932 to January 3, 2017 -

Rex Coleman, a native Oregonian and lifelong resident of Molalla, died at Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin at the age of 84.

Rex was the son of Gladys and Rex Coleman. He was born near Canby and lived a large part of his youth and young adult life on property near Fernwood.

He lettered in basketball, football and baseball at Molalla Union High School, from which he graduated in 1950. The next year, he married Virginia Murray, and together they raised four children, Dan (Kerri), Dian, Dallas (deceased) and Don. They were married for 50 years. His closest companion for the past 15 years has been Vicki Gilstrap.

Survivors include three of his four children; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Molalla Church of the Nazarene, 920 Shirley Street, Molalla, on Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. A reception will follow service. Arrangements by Molalla Funeral Home

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Adams Cemetery at 11:30 am. A memorial service will be held at The First Church of the Nazarene in Molalla, Oregon at 1 PM.
