Robert O. Berthold March 18, 1924 - August 1, 2010

Robert O. Berthold, 86, passed away Sunday August 1, 2010. He was born March 18, 1924 to Otto and Elenora Berthold in Molalla, Oregon. Robert is survived by his daughter, Heidi Kinard, daughter, Lisa McCalip and husband Steve; grandsons, Travis Kinard, Andrew McCalip, Jonathan McCalip, Samuel McCalip, Jacob McCalip, and David McCalip; brother, Melvin Berthold and wife Jean; sister-in-law, JoAn Berthold.

Robert graduated salutatorian of Molalla High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He was a prisoner of war in Germany during WW II. After the war Robert attended college and graduated from the University of California-Berkley with a degree in Engineering.

He was married to Audrey McClimans for 43 years until her passing in 1997. Robert retired in 1982 from Shell Oil after 25 years of service. He enjoyed community theatre, snow skiing, tennis, and singing in a quartet.

A Memorial service will be held at 10AM Friday August 6, 2010 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Autumn Grove Cottage, Attn: Caregiver Appreciation, 14090 FM 2920, Suite G180, Tomball, TX 77377.
