Violet Ruth (Hofstetter) Norquist

Born December 28, 1921 in Salem, Oregon. Died November 2, 2011 in Oregon City, Oregon. Violet was born to Otto Paul and Meta Mohr Stark Hofstetter, the eldest of four children.

She attended Meadow Brook Grade School and graduated from Molalla High School, the class of 1939. She was married to Henry John Norquist on May 3, 1941.

She worked as head cook at Molalla Union High School. She was a member of and volunteer to many organizations, including Kiwanis, the grange, AARP, Meals on Wheels, the senior center, TRIPS and Molalla Elementary School. She especially enjoyed family times and preparing great meals for lots of people, and pie, always pie.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry; two daughters, Betty Jo Williams and Penne Ann Norquist and two grandchildren.

Surviving her are her brother, Don Hofstetter; sisters, Alma Krivonen and Evelyn Freeman; sons, Henry Norquist Jr. and Donald Norquist; daughters, Ileen Grady, Linda Reeder and Laurie Suhrbier; 18 grandchildren ; 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Services were held on November 5, 2011. Reverend Grant Francis officiated. Burial was at Adams Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Molalla Adult Community Center's Meals on Wheels program.
