Sonya Marie (Wrolstad) Leedham

Sonya Marie Wrolstad Leedham died on July 30, 2019 in the comfort of her home. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer. She was 54.

Sonya Wrolstad was the youngest of two children born on August 24, 1964 to Larry and Judy Wrolstad in Silverton Hospital. Along with growing up on a working farm, Sonya participated in extracurricular activities of Blue Birds, Camp Fire Girls, 4-H, and played basketball. Following graduation from Molalla Union High School in 1982, Sonya attended Salem Academy of Hair Design where she a earned a cosmetology license. She married Brad Leedham in 1983 and had one child, Klein Leedham, in 1987.

Sonya’s career included being a hair stylist for more than a decade until chronic wrist tendonitis set in. She graded lumber for Avison Lumber, drove a school bus (she had many humorous stories involving her youthful passengers) and a public transportation bus (also many colorful stories involving adult passengers) until she became ill in the late summer of 2018. Sonya was an animal lover with particular fondness of horses. She was an accomplished rider and enjoyed trail rides.

Sonya will be remembered for her curious and loving spirit, as well as her warmth, sensitivity and sense of humor. Sonya was admired for her amazing ability to grow beautiful flower gardens. Her wild flowerbeds were picture -perfect. Sonya like to build things. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. One of her most notable projects was building a pole barn. Her flair and passion to create was robust. Sonya had a lust for life and enjoyed spending time with her family and close circle of friends.

Sonya is survived by her husband Brad Leedham, her son Klein Leedham, her parents Larry and Judy Wrolstad, and her sister Leslie Wrolstad. She lives on in the hearts of all she touched.
