Elsie Ernestine (Kleinsmith) Jolivette


Elsie Ernestine (Kleinsmith) Jolivette died May 24, 2013. She was 85.

Mrs. Jolivette was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Marquam, to Elmer and Ida (Zwahlen) Kleinsmith. She grew up on a farm in Molalla and graduated from Molalla High School in 1945. She moved to Portland and worked as a payroll clerk/switchboard operator for Western Condensing.

She married Ronald Jolivette in 1949, and the couple moved to Oregon City. She worked at King Elementary School, first in the kitchen, and then as an instructional aide for 16 years, retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her husband; children, Steven, of Panama City Beach, Fla., David, of Washougal, Wash., Jeanne, of Camas, Wash., Jennifer, of Milwaukie; and brother, Gene Kleinsmith, of Mulino; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. John the Apostle Church in Oregon City.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or the Myelodysplasia (MDS) Foundation.
