Shirley (Miller) Johnson


February 10, 1925 - January 24, 2017

Shirley L. Johnson of Oregon City, Ore., passed away following a long illness, on Jan. 24, 2017. She was 91.

Shirley was born to Lester and Aletha Miller in Molalla, Ore. on Feb. 10, 1925. Her occupations included bookkeeping and she was a teacher's assistant at Molalla Elementary School for over 20 years.

She was also a Camp Fire leader. She was a lifelong member of Molalla United Methodist Church, the VFW Axillary, and the Multnomah Hunters and Anglers Club. Shirley loved to camp, fish, play cards and play Bunco. She was a very caring person who loved everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Duane and sister-in-law, Jeanne Miller; and first husband, Philip (Bob) Fourier. She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Janine (Dale) Brooks of Canby, Ore.; son, Marvin (Donna) Fourier of Oregon City, Ore.; grandchildren, Derek (Emily) Brooks of Springhill, Tenn., Philip (Christina) Fourier of West Linn, Ore., and Maria Fourier of Homer, Alaska; and great-grandchildren, Aunika and Collin Brooks, Andrew and Dominic Fourier.

A memorial service was held at the Molalla United Methodist Church on Jan. 31, 2017.

Shirley lived in the Molalla community most of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Johnson; son, Marvin Fourier (Donna); daughter, Janine Brooks (Dale); grandchildren, Derek Brooks (Emily), Philip Fourier (Christina), Maria Fourier; and great-grandchildren, Aunkia and Collin Brooks, Andrew and Dominic Fourier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Aletha Miller; brother, Duane (Jeanne) Miller; and husband, Philip Fourier.

A memorial will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 31, 2017 at the Molalla United Methodist Church 111 Mathias Rd Molalla, OR 97038.
