Janis Ellen (Jakabosky) Herbison

Janis Ellen Herbison (Jakabosky), age 63 of Hudson's Hope B.C., Canada passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015 at Fort St. John, B.C.

Jan was born April 24, 1951 to Leon and Ione (Genseroski) Jakabosky in Oregon City, Oregon.

She was raised in Molalla, Oregon graduating from Molalla Union High School in 1969.

Jan moved to Kamloops, B.C. in 1972 where she met Delvin Herbison. They were married on June 30, 1973.

Jan had a special talent for art that she started to explore while in high school. She used many mediums over the years with water colors being her favorite. In addition to  painting Jan shared her talent and taught many potential artists her love of painting.

Besides her art Jan loved playing cards, scrabble, gardening, reflexology and helping almost anyone.  She was the former President of Hudson's Hope Women's Club and a member of the New Horizons Senior Center.

Jan will remain in the hearts of her husband of 41 years, Delvin; sons,
Ryan and Jason (Catherine) of Hudson's Hope B.C.; granddaughter, Vayda-Mae; siblings, Joel (Gwen) of Lyle, Washington, Dale (Nancy) of Hayden, Idaho and Robert (Lanie) of Hot Springs, Montana; brother-in-laws, Don (Asenath) of Farmington, B.C. and Dwight (Helen) of Cawston, B.C.; sister-in-law, Wanda (Dan) of Kamloops, B.C.; many nieces and nephews; and lots of special friends.

A Memorial Service was conducted on April 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Hudson's Hope Community Hall in Hudson's Hope, B.C.
