Audrie B. Glassow

An open house celebrating the life of Audrie B. Glassow, 88, of Coos Bay will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at 545 Shorepines Place, Coos Bay.

Audrie was born to John and Elsie Moen on March 19, 1922, in Monitor, Ore. She died Dec. 12, 2010, in Coos Bay from lung cancer.

She attended Molalla Union High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1940.

Audrie was the office manager for Young’s-Olds Cadillac in Coos Bay before her retirement.

She was married to her first husband from 1944 to 1959. In 1968 she married Roy Glassow which blended their families including her daughter and his four children.

Audrie was past president of the Illinois Federation Women’s Clubs. She was involved with friends of the library and lighthouse RV groups. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, embroidery, golf and traveling. One of her last travels was the trip her loving companion Byron Richards took her on to Scandinavia.

Audrie was a loving lady and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Dale Powers of Coos Bay; grandson, Michael Abbott serving in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii; sister, Dorothy DuVal of Silverton; cousin, Ruth Rue of Corvallis; stepdaughters, Susan Glassow, Cindy Biboux and Sarah Whittaker; and loving companion, Byron Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Gloria; husband, Roy; and stepson, Hugh.
