James “Jim” H. Blake

James “Jim” H. Blake, 57, of Depoe Bay, Ore., died of a massive heart attack on Nov. 23, 2010 in Corvallis.

He was born May 3,1953 to James and Juanita Blake in Clarinda, Iowa. He moved to Molalla as a child and left for the coast in 1990. He was employed by Shilo Inn in Lincoln City (now Chinook Winds) as a groundskeeper for the last nine years, and prior to that was a groundskeeper for Salishan Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Blake.

He is survived by his lifelong partner and soul mate, Deborah Conway; father, Arthur Blake; the mother of his daughter, Vicki Schwabauer; daughter, Heaven Blake; stepdaughters, Heather Miller and Amanda Conway; brothers, John and Steve Blake; sisters, Sandra Kennedy and Linda Sheets; and grandchildren, Wyatt, Rylee and Owen.

A private viewing for family was held Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at Bateman Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City is handling arrangements.
